This artwork, more than a mere visual tribute to the monarch butterfly, is a celebration of its unparalleled resilience and willpower.

The central representation on the page captures this wondrous insect from a top view, its wings spread wide open - capturing the full range of its recognisable colour patterns.

From the outset, the monarch’s vital relation to the milkweed plant became an essential theme of interest. „Demanding” to be given its deserved place in the overall composition, it materializes in the complementary scene at the top of the page.

This representation is an opportunity to observe the butterflies’ wings from a different perspective, this time from a side view and when folded.

Visually, the green, pink and violet hues of the milkweed plant introduce a delicate chromatic balance against the warm orange and yellow tones predominant throughout the page.
