I view my artworks as a contemporary fusion of scientific illustration and nature journaling, where I seek to convey not just a mere representation, but imbue each artwork with a personal interpretation of what I observe.

Drawing parallels to scientific illustration, I delve into meticulous research and attention to detail to capture the unique characteristics of each animal I paint.
However, I refrain from pursuing a rigid realistic representation, striving to maintain a unique feeling of artistic identity in my work.
At the same time, my approach is equally close to that of nature journaling, embracing informality and spontaneity to evoke a sense of exploration and discovery.
With an absence of constraints, each page becomes an open canvas for the creative journey - emphasizing the process just as much as the final result.
Where do I find inspiration?

Vintage nature illustrations and field sketchbooks hold a special allure for me, with their aged paper and spontaneous drawings capturing the essence of artistic experimentation.
Beyond these traditional references, I am equally fascinated by storytelling in various artistic mediums. From cinema and photography to fine art or literature unravelling the narrative threads woven into each piece fuels my creative exploration and allows me to uncover inspiration in unexpected places.
I truly believe that inspiration can be found everywhere, as long as we keep a curious mind and an open heart. It is a journey of constant learning and surprise, where every encounter holds the potential to spark new ideas.

What do I use to make my artworks?
My artistic expression consists of a harmonious blend of pen drawing, coloured pencils and watercolour.
In addition to these primary mediums, I often incorporate a diverse array of other tools such as graphite, gouache, charcoal or watercolour pencils.
These allow me to explore and experiment with texture, brightness or reflection - evoking different sensations and emotions within each artwork.

Rather than adopting a rigid working process, I seek to approach each piece with newfound freedom, tailoring my techniques to suit the essence of the animal I'm portraying and the narrative I wish to convey within the page.
Embracing the variety of art supplies, I consciously celebrate the richness inherent to each stage of the artistic journey.
In an era dominated by digital screens in all aspects of life, I place great importance on elevating and honouring the tactile and physical nature of artistic creation - recognizing the value of the process itself as an integral component of any artwork.

Therefore, I proudly employ exclusively traditional, manual techniques throughout all stages of my creative process.

While I admire the artistic value of any digital art form, nothing could replace the unparalleled pleasure of the paper texture beneath my hand or the delicate sound of a sharp pencil scratching its surface!
