This artwork owes a significant debt to the captivating representations of tigers in traditional Chinese painting, as well as to this animal’s symbolic and allegorical qualities throughout culture and heritage.

Conveying a regal presence, the full-body representation emphasizes the tiger’s elongated, slender physique. Evoking a sense of awe and reverence, it highlights the innate grace of this creature.

Delving deeper into the tiger’s character, the portrait scene depicts its untamed nature. With a vigilant gaze, the tiger exudes a palpable aura of ferocity, ready to pounce at a moment’s notice.

The slightly opened mouth introduces a sense of tension and anticipation as if an imminent roar is about to reverberate through the page.

In its turn, the group representation at the top of the page encapsulates the profound bond between a mother tiger and her cubs - a poignant reminder of the nurturing and safeguarding role she plays when ensuring the survival of the next generations.
