This artwork explores and celebrates the hyena’s remarkable physical traits, behaviour, social structure, and evolutionary journey - inspiring a composition that honours its astounding nature.
Presenting an adult hyena together with its juvenile counterpart, it offers a delightful opportunity to explore the similarities and differences between the two.
The adult hyena’s pose emphasizes its strong, commanding demeanour - underlining the characteristics which allow it to thrive as such an unmatched hunter.
In its turn, the young hyena captures a cub’s natural curiosity and inquisitiveness. The raised head as it sniffs the air and the grand-sized ears underline the alertness to all the presences and noises of its surrounding environment.
Complementing both portrayals, the skull representation is a testament to some of the unique physical traits and adaptations that define the hyena’s fearsome reputation.
