Queen Conch
Conservation Series
Where art and science meet, something deeper emerges
This project began as a conversation - one that gradually evolved into a meaningful collaboration to support the FAU Queen Conch Lab’s research and conservation efforts.
Developed through a close exchange of ideas with Dr. Megan Davis - founder and leader of the Queen Conch Lab - this artwork is deeply inspired by the lab’s work and explores the biology, life cycle, and ecological importance of the queen conch.
Throughout the page, a series of detailed scenes brings together art and science - connecting the viewer to the queen conch, its story, and the ongoing work to protect it.
HOW EACH PRINT MAKES AN IMPACT
Each print sold contributes directly to supporting the Lab’s work.
A fixed contribution of 25€ per print is donated directly to the FAU Queen Conch Lab, supporting conservation efforts across the Caribbean.
With each purchase, you are directly helping:
• new research
• fieldwork and data collection
• education and conservation outreach
Each print becomes a meaningful contribution to protecting the queen conch and its ecosystem.
THE ARTWORK
This piece tells the story of the queen conch -
a composition inspired by its form, colours, life cycle, and the ecological role it plays in the fragile seagrass meadows of the Caribbean.
From early larval stages to adulthood, each element reveals a different aspect of the species - combining scientific observation with visual storytelling.
Created using archival printing on museum-grade paper, each reproduction preserves the detail, texture, and color depth of the original artwork.
Thank you for being part of this!
